Overview: Adhesives
Bundy®: For adhering plastic or ceramic raised pavement markers
Bundy® is specifically designed to adhere Raised Pavement Markers (RPMs) to the road surface and provide a bond that will last throughout the marker’s lifetime. Each 5" x 5" Bundy® is made of non-beaded 125 mil PreMark® preformed thermoplastic. Proper installation requires completely melting the Bundy® with a propane heat gun and placing the marker into the molten adhesive. It is not necessary to preheat the road to a specific temperature prior to application. Easy removal without damage to the road surface makes Bundy® ideal for use in work zones. Simply heat the Bundy® and push a shovel underneath the RPM to lift it.
SuperBundy®: For adhering objects on horizontal surfaces such as delineator posts
For objects requiring stronger adhesion, Flint developed SuperBundy®, a non-toxic, zero v.o.c. adhesive for use with traffic control objects that are subject to high impact or stress such as delineator posts, curbstones, and “turtle” markers and buttons. SuperBundy® has resilient characteristics which enable it to remain flexible throughout its lifetime and, therefore, acts as a shock absorber. SuperBundy® is available in two sizes – 2” x 39” strips and 8” x 8” pads. Each layer of the two-piece system is 100 mil thick. Do not attempt to use a single piece only as this will result in inadequate bonding and failure. The material can easily be cut into other shapes with scissors or a knife. SuperBundy® comes standard in light grey but can be custom made in other colors with a minimum order quantity. NOTE: SuperBundy Plus is not recommended for use with raised pavement markers.
