PreMark® Contrast Markings
Enhance contrast and improve visibility both day and night. The difference is noticeable with PreMark® Contrast Markings for light-colored asphalt and concrete applications. PreMark® Contrast Markings for lines and legends are convenient to use because the two-colored preformed thermoplastic is physically held together with a compatible material thus allowing the user to easily handle the marking.
The white and yellow PreMark® material is retroreflective and skid resistant while the black contrasting border is skid resistant and non-reflective.
PreMark® Contrast Markings are supplied at 125-mil thickness to ensure their desired service life and cost effectiveness. Contrasting linear material is sold in flat packs of 3 ft. lengths. The 4”, 5” and 6” width linear material has a 1.5” black contrasting border. The 8” width linear material has a 3” black contrasting border. Word legends such as ONLY, SCHOOL, XING, and STOP are available in 8 ft. and 10 ft. sizes with a 1.5” black contrasting border.
A retrofit kit is available for the FHWA standard turn arrow and straight arrow. The retrofit kit for arrows consists of high-skid black material that is packaged separately and is made to fit around the corresponding PreMark® arrow with the same item number.
PreMark® high performance retroreflective preformed thermoplastic pavement markings are engineered for enhanced visibility both day and night, durability and flexibility. PreMark® contains uniformly distributed glass beads throughout the material so that as the marking wears new beads are exposed. PreMark® has no minimum road or air temperature requirements and is designed for use in heavy traffic locations where maximum wear and tear is present. PreMark® does not require preheating of the pavement to a specific temperature prior to application.
