PreMark® Manhole Protection Rings

PreMark

Road construction, re-surfacing and sewer maintenance can result in manhole covers that do not match the exact grade and crown of the road. More than a nuisance and maintenance concern for snowplows, this situation can pose real dangers to motorists and pedestrians. It is also a potential injury hazard for snow plow operators. Flint has developed an effective, durable manhole protection ring to safely transition from the road surface to the top of the manhole cover or water access cover.

The PreMark® Manhole Protection Ring System is designed with a subtle incline that provides smooth, damage-free ride for daily traffic. Each ring is made of durable non-beaded 125 mil. PreMark® preformed thermoplastic material. As many as three rings can be combined to negotiate severe grade changes. A kit consists of 3 rings with the same inside diameter but a different outside diameter so a height difference from 1/8” to 3/8” can be adjusted by using one, two, or three rings. PreMark® Manhole Protection Rings are available in a variety of diameters and come in grey or black.

As with all PreMark® products, installation of PreMark® Manhole Protection Rings requires no minimum air or road temperature. Superior direct bond to asphalt or concrete means installation is quick and easy in any weather, with no slippage, shifting or damage to the pavement. A unique heat indicator system allows you to visually ensure that the rings are properly installed. Black PreMark® material does not contain glass beads and is not retroreflective.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER: While applying PreMark® Manhole Protection Rings an open flame is present when using a propane heat gun. Installers must ensure that no flammable gases are present prior to or during application.
